About Me
Hello! I am a full time traveler with my husband Jacob and our twin toddlers, Nicholas and Emina. I am a travel writer, and my husband is an online English teacher. I lived my whole life in Colorado, a state near California. It's full of beautiful mountains and famous for skiing, but I've never been. I met my husband in high school. When we turned 19, we moved to Hilo, Hawaii to pursue a farming career. We stayed for about 1.5 years. I found out that I was pregnant with twins, so we decided that we wanted to do something other than farming. It's very expensive to have kids in America, so we moved to Australia. It was cheaper for medical care and my husband would go to university to study biology. After giving birth, we had a difficult time with our visas. My husband applied to other schools outside the country, and we moved to Austria. We stayed there for a bit, but were spending too much time and not enjoying ourselves. My husband worked or was at school all day, and we barely had enough food to buy groceries. We decided to pack up and move once again. This time to Cambodia, where my husband would teach English. We both ended up getting online jobs and decided to travel the world while we could before our kids go to school. So that's exactly what we're doing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to connect with locals to better understand the location and hopefully find some local hidden gems! Sight seeing and eating are great, but it's really important to connect with people while you travel. Staying at hotels is nice, but we don't often get to talk to locals or even fellow travelers. I want to meet new people from all over the world to make my trips even more memorable.
Interests
I love to explore new cultures and eat all the best local food. We prefer off the beaten path locations, but we slow travel through countries to see as much as we can. In my opinion, food offers the best way to understand and connect with a new culture. I also like hiking, nature and photography.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading, but I never have the time anymore. I love listening to music of all kinds!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've done is give birth to twins. I also took a 30 hour flight when I was 25 weeks pregnant!
More recently, we travelled through Asia for about a year as a family. During this time, we almost exclusively stayed with CSers. It was a really amazing time!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about American culture and help you improve your English if you're interested. I want to learn about your culture and what makes you and your city unique.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will clean up after myself and can treat you to meals if you recommend a good local place :)
