About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a student, and am studying Psychology at the University of Limerick. My Dad's German and my Mom's Irish, and I did a lot of hopping between the two countries when I was younger, as well as living in Tanzania for four years. I'm a little more settled now, but still want to see as much of the world as possible and meet as many people as possible!
PHILOSOPHY
Nada te turbe, nada te espante, todo se pasa
- "Let nothing trouble you, let nothing scare you, everything passes"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I'm living at home with my parents so unfortunately I can't host for now.
As a guest, I can provide wine and food. I will probably take over your kitchen at some point and force some form of lentil based dish on you.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted about half a dozen people at my house in Limerick, and I've also couchsurfed in Prague, Rotterdam, Paris, Oslo, and Edinburgh, which were all really great experiences.
Interests
Stereotypical granny interests - I am an avid knitter and tea drinker, and dabble in the odd bit of yoga. I'm a vegetarian and am really interested in what we eat and why we eat it. I also love a good walk, be it for an hour along the beach or five weeks on the Camino de Santiago.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Juno, Pixar, anything that involves children or love or Meryl Streep or Diane Keaton, anything by Wes Anderson.
Music: Bearded Men with Acoustic Guitars, including but not limited to Brights Eyes, Fionn Regan, The Tallest Man on Earth, Villagers, Paolo Nutini, Belle and Sebastian, Sufjan Stevens, Fun.
Books: Working my way through Austen and Ali Smith at the moment. I read a lot of non-fictional gender theory and psychology related books, and dream of one day being able to write like Oliver Sacks.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favourite place on Earth is without a doubt Taizé. Specifically, sitting in the church at 3am when about five people are singing and you're having an in-depth conversation about the meaning of life with someone you met two days ago. The atmosphere and the mind set of everyone there is something that I wish were more common in the rest of the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be more than happy to teach anyone who is interested a bit of English, German or even Irish. We often give the people who stay with us a lesson in Irish slang, as it can be a bit difficult to understand us at times! I can also teach a little bit of ukulele and yoga, but I am always looking to improve, and would love a few lessons myself.
