About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make the most of my open-ended stay in Senegal in every way possible

ABOUT ME

I love travelling; meeting new people, seeing new places, taking local buses, learning new languages. Most recently did a 7 month trip to Central and South America.

PHILOSOPHY

It is better to regret things that you have done rather than things that you haven't.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS is one of those things that you get out only what you put in. Now in Senegal my plan is to learn all about it and meet up with travellers here as often as I can and show them the ropes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed once, was good, but while travelling I didn't tend to plan ahead well enough to organise further couches.

Interests

Currently karate and rearing chickens and ducks. I play guitar but haven't got one at the moment and I like all kinds of music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Big Lebowski, 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Juno, Life Is Beautiful...
Music: All sorts. Currently getting back into guitar rock music as well as getting my hands on as much spanish hip-hop as possible as I have a theory about listening to it helping comprehension of a language. German hip-hop did the same for my German although I did at times insert inappropriate slang terms into everyday conversations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Managed to talk my way through not paying a tourist tax that was going to the brutal military junta government in Myanmar after my arrival in Rangoon. Nothing that special, but I feel better not to have directly benefitted the junta from my visit.

Teach, Learn, Share

- Easy guitar songs
- DIY skills - need a handy man?
- Language practice: German (fluent), French (intermediate)
