ABOUT ME

I'm an engineer and in the most general sense I'm interested in the world's energy problems. Have been described as "brainy", consider self a technologist to some degree. In high school I was a runner, now I just do whatever I feel like to keep active. I never seem to stick with and commit to a single hobby for a long time. (but I kind of like it that way)

My family hosted foreign exchange students when I was in college and we traveled around a lot together, I always enjoyed those experiences and want to branch out to do those sorts of things myself. Scouts and Alpha Phi Omega also had a major impact on me. I studied Japanese on my own (because why not), then in classes, then traveled around Japan and studied at JCMU, link:

I have done an IAESTE internship in Tokyo. I've tried picking up Mandarin with Rosetta Stone in the past few months, but not much progress so far.

Places I most strongly want to visit are China and Europe right now.

PHILOSOPHY

Some words I'll use are existentialist and possibilian. I can't say how much I like the philosophy of Couchsurfing. I believe this is the positive direction that the world is moving in - to become a more compassionate society. When people have their basic human needs met the things they value will shift to experiences, relationships, and knowledge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel and help people travel around the world, share stories, ideas, all that stuff. I would like to offer my couch as long as I have one to share. I totally want to wander around staying on people's couches.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Right now I'm just hosting and participating in local events. I've been to a local potluck and couch crash. At this point in my life I'm just not traveling very much. Hopefully it won't be this way for much longer.
