1. Sometimes I'm overthinking a lot. My mind almost never stops. That's why I love meditation.

2. I have a strong passion for other cultures. Traveling to other cultures and diving into totally different ways of thinking changed my perspective on everything. Thailand is my favourite country since 2013.

3. My name Alard comes from old germanic (short form of Adelhardt) and means "Noble Heart".

4. I'm very caring about other people's problems. When I see someone suffering I automatically suffer. When I see someone smile it makes me smile. :)

5. I eat only plant-based (vegan) food since 2011.

I lived in Thailand for one year, from August 2013 to July 2014 to teach English as a volunteer in a primary school in Chiangrai - a small town in the north of Thailand. I just had finished my highschool in Germany and decided to go to Thailand because of Buddhism.

After coming back I didn't have any idea how life should go on in Germany. Life is so different. Culture shock.
Finally, at April 2015, I started to study "Religious Studies" and "Chinese Studies".

From March 2016 - February 2017 I was on an ASIA JOURNEY. I used Couchsurfing a lot and without this website and all these amazing people my journey would not have been nearly as great as it was !

When I came back to Germany in February 2017 - I had learned a lot on this journey around 15 countries - I started working as a promoter for Aid organisations, met 2 Thais on the street and finally realized that Thailand was still my favourite country.

So I started studying "Languages and Cultures of South-East Asia" with focus on Thailand and Thai language in Hamburg University (North of Germany).

Then, when Corona came in 2020, my life got another big change and I

STARTED GROWING VEGGIES AND FRUITS in the garden of My mum in Dortmund. Until now this is my major passion and I'm just starting to think of how to live by this. 🙏
