About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do a 'reverse' Marco Polo: I'm traveling overland from Kazakhstan to Croatia over 3 months.

ABOUT ME

I'm a restless person -- I love to travel, to try new things, meet new people, and laugh a lot in the process.

Ethnically, I'm sort of a mutt. My parents and upbringing were very Scottish, I grew up in Canada, and I've lived (mostly) in the States for the past nine years.

Travel is one of the few things I'm kind of serious about. I've spent a lot of time in Africa and Latin America doing economic development stuff, and have traveled to a lot of Europe (mostly enjoying myself).

PHILOSOPHY

Every second counts -- see as much as you can, keep an open mind, be generous, and live life to the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So I just joined CouchSurfing, like, really recently. I've heard incredible things about it and the people I know who do it are terrific.

This summer, while I'm traveling all the time, I'll probably be looking to stay on a few couches and make some friends around Eurasia. When I get back to Boston in the fall, I'm hoping a few people will honor my humble dorm room with their presence.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Pretty limited! Hoping to do some more...

Interests

Squash, interesting people, salsa (the dancing and the sauce), the chance to try new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

These days, I read a lot of guidebooks. I love accoustic pop (the Shins, yeah!), classic American rock (Led Zep) and anything else that's interesting. Love indie films and short movies.
