About Me

I'm just living one adventure at a time. I left my home town to join the Navy and from there i've been addicted to traveling anywhere and everywhere i can get my hands on. I've changed careers 3 times in my life. Before the Navy I went to nursing school for a semester and came to the conclusion that the medical field wasn't my thing. When I joined the Navy they trained me to be an electrician, but once my 4 years of traveling the world with Uncle Sam, I wasn't happy with that occupation as well. So when I was discharged I had the world at my fingertips and was able to be whatever i wanted. I went to culinary school and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Austin with my Culiary Arts Degree as well as Advanced Baking & Patisserie. I took an internship with Vail Resorts and I haven't looked back. I'm now a sous chef for one of the top grossing restaurants in Vail. I've lived and visited several cities with and without the military.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to couchsurfing by my best friend i met in the Navy and my experience with it have all been good. Unfortunately we used his account so my background is very limited. I'm hoping i can broaden my networking with couchsurfing.

Interests

I'm a huge dog lover! My life is just so busy that I dont have the time to love my own dog, so i dogsit to get my fix. During the winters i'm snowboarding to and from work, where i'm creating yummy recipes. Savory or Sweet, i'm always down for the challenge. Hospitality is a huge part of my life and i dont regret having to work weekends and holidays. I do it so you dont have to and i can put a smile on faces whenever they bite into anything i put my love in. During summers I'm still cooking but i can't really snowboard so i do a lot of disc golfing, rafting, and hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music genre depends on mood and activity. Lots of dance music, alternative, R&B, some rap, no country.

My book collection consists of cook books and teen fiction. I'm a sucker for simple yet vivid imagination.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My travels around the world have all been amazing so its hard to choose one certain thing i've done. While in the military i was able to help Haiti with their major earthquake in 2009. I'll never forget how many lives we helped when we showed up to Port Au Prince.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe anyone can cook and i love to show people the light when it comes to cooking anything other than a hamburger helper. Baking is a little more tedious but very doable.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a fun outgoing person who just wants to experience life and have fun doing it. I'm respectful and humble to hosts that allow me to stay with them. The one thing i can offer is my friendship and hospitality when needed. I'm always down for a Skype chat so that we can get to know each other more before i have the privilege of staying with you.
