About Me

Almost 2 years ago, I up and left my home and went to my country's capital to pursue a life of poker with less than $100 USD in my wallet and savings account. I've been able to sustain a lifestyle with the money I made from poker for the last 20 months, but I realized that it was a really bad lifestyle choice. I wake up at 6pm and I play til 6am, go home chill for an hour and sleep. Sleep, play, repeat. I had no human interaction asides from the people on the poker table for the last 20 months. So I've up and left again, this time backpacking in Europe, while doing freelance online translation to hopefully sustain this 3 month adventure of mine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always loved to appreciate a country from a local's perspective. I remember sitting down on streets of the countries that I've visited previously, and I just ask random local folks on recommendations on places to eat and drink. Mostly, all the recommendations have been awesome. Here's to hoping that long may it continue.

Interests

Understanding different perspectives and cultures. Sometimes what you see as a norm, I see as exceptional.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Turned 18 USD into 1088 USD in 3 days playing poker online.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do not believe I am of the sufficient level to teach, but sharing my interests is one thing I can do. As for learning, I'm up for learning tonnes of stuff especially language to make up for lost time due to my mundane past.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some good tips on where to eat in the countries that I've been.
Chinese if you'd like. I'm doing it while backpacking.
