About Me

Helloo

Im Albert 23 years old. Born polish, lived in vienna for over 10 years - where I studied Fotography and AV. After that i started traveling a lot and living in diffrent countries (Spain - canary islands mainly). This summer i have moved from Vienna to Poland after traveling central America for the winter. On my homelanf i was enjoying countryside living - building - growing a garden - creating. Now again traveling hahathis time the balkan. Will start sailing mid September in the adriatic - helping in a boat with cooking.

I like adventures. I usually dont book anything in advance and often just camp somewhere in nature ;)
Love connecting with the local culture and learning about traditions (also traditional food 😍)

Currently living a bit of a nomadic live. Working kn festivals (cooking) and traveling around. Happy to have this freedom in my life. As summer is coming to an end (slowly) i decided to make the most out of it and visit south-east europe - as it was a dream of mine for a while. I want to explore croatia, Montenegro and Albania.

………///…….
Since 3 years I have been escaping the winter to warmer places. I've spent that time on the canary islands traveling, working and helping in community projects, animal shelters etc.
Last winter traveling Guatemala by Motorbike (never had one before) and loving the diversity of culture, the rich history and ethnic identity.
Really inspired by the mayan knowledge and traditions - eager to learn more and be part of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Through my travels I have met a lot of interesting people. Everyone has something to share, show and explain about their culture, their person and life.

For me exchanging those thing directly with locals is what I love the most about traveling. No guide can give you this expierience.

I would love to learn about
culture ( History and tradition are what makes each destination unique)
cuisine ( I love cooking - A LOT - so we can prepare smth together)
language ( particularly interested in typical words from your country, as spanish varies a lot)

optional: dance :) have done come clases on salsa and bachata, I really enjoyed the dancing together and having a good time

Music, Movies, and Books

I dont really read a lot nor watch a lot of movies.
However lately have been fascinated by the movie 'Oppenheimer' (cinema masterpiece really)
and a polish award winner (drama) 'Klerus'

Since I studied photography I really enjoy movies that have a great visual story, and offer some type of intensity - not the typcial hollywood action-movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling Morocco in January, me and 2 fellow travelers, took a bus to a small town, then a taxi to a village in the Atlas mountains. When we got out of the car it was a diffrent world. Completely quiet, only a guy with his sheep herd.

When we walked around the clay village (with 300year old houses) we asked a group of women (by hand signs) where there is a hostel/hotel. They howed us where and one woman pulls out a plate of food and gives us to try.
We really liked it - and she showed us to sit down and eat.

This was a really unique expierience. Feeling so welcome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to share my knowledge about cooking polish, italian and orient food.
Also really enjoy talking about culture and its differences

I would love to learn about how your life is and diffrent values that you share within your culture.
Of course I would be really greatful to learn about your local cuisine.
