About Me

Hey! I'll try to sum myself up in this box the best I can. I'm an aspiring filmmaker and photographer first, then advanced doodler, crappy writer, and lover of just about any sport and outdoor activity. I'm learning guitar, Spanish, and tirelessly working on my three point shot. I believe the best things in life come from experiences rather than things and that is what I'm pursuing in traveling and meeting new people. I don't believe traveling is complete in wanderlust alone-- the pretty places are great, but it's about the people, the connections, and storied shared along the way. I'll be spending the next four months on a round-the-world film project called "Trust Me, I'm 22". I'm super stoked to create it and would love for anyone of you to be apart of it if you'd like. Let's share stories, laughs and just hang out. Most importantly I hope we can learn from each other and help make this world better than we found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Opps. Kinda gave that away in the "about me". Well, to reiterate, I'm working on a film, it's a personal passion project, that is bringing me around the world. It's titled "Trust Me, I'm 22." I won't go too much into it here, but it's documentary about what world travel can mean, where different cultures place value, and the opinion that it all encompasses in the head of a (perhaps reckless) 22 fresh out of college (me, haha). I'm going to be filming all over Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, South Africa, South America. I would love if you could help me out on this project!

Music, Movies, and Books

This could take me forever. Let's just go with I love all music but this past week in particular I've been jamming to Bon Iver, Frank Ocean and The Killers. Right now, Arrival and La La Land are pretty high up on my 2016 movies list. And for books--- Today Means Amen (I highly recommend it, it's a poetry collection written with blunt honesty and candidness). We can definitely talk more on any these, maybe even break out favorite TV shows (Breaking Bad).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My sophomore year of college I got lucky enough to be asked by the Smithsonian to be their Director of Photography for a documentary called "Water Matters". I got to travel all over the United States filming about water conservation and how water is changing our environment and lives today. It was INCREDIBLE and I learned so much, not just about filmmaking, but about people, tribes, and the impact we are having on our environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll talk filmmaking, editing, cameras, photography, star photography... you name it. But I would love to learn about your culture, daily walks in life, and what goes on in your window of the world. Teach me your language basics and the best places to eat? Just let me in on your perspective of the world and I will be eternally grateful.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories. My naive 22 year old opinion on the little things and the big things. Substantial conversation (because who wants to talk about the weather and their college majors for two hours).

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, South Africa, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
