About Me

People said i work fast but when it comes to traveling i prefer to keep things slow. I am a writer from Hong Kong, the metropolitan city with endless dynamic and a high variety of culture co-existing in one small town.

I like listening to people’s stories, and my profession is to turn these dialogue into sentence and paragraph. I have encountered so many cool things in Hong Kong but i want to take a look of the lifestyle far from home. So This summer i set off a 3 months solo trip to the Europe. From Holland, portugal to spain, france. I don’t need to rush to sightseeing spots or meeting new friends. When you are ready, friendship and happiness will come find you at the perfect timing. Just wave your hand and say Hello / Hola / Bonjour with a big smile by then.

I document city life through photography and words. I put all my travel journal and photos on instagram. I am happy to share with you how it is like to be living in Hong Kong and the real locals lifestyle behind the glamorous side depicted in movies like “Ghost in the shell”.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am very very new to couchsurfing honestly. I have been using airbnb for years and i really enjoy having something more with the locals besides mapping the famous spots in the city. friendship, connection, soulful exchange, are what i am looking for here.

People told me couchsurfing saves money. In a sense it is. But after all “there is no free lunch in the world”. What really matters to me, is to find the right place, right partner, to have an opportunity to shortly immerse into the local life. Everyone is a traveler and everyone could be looking for this chance in their lifelong journey. It would always be warm hearted to be invited to a homy dinner when you are all alone out there in a country that you could not pronounce the name accurately.

Interests

Hiking in autumn. Music and Dance. Film in the theatre and discuss the plot at the dinner after. Photography in shamelessly unskillful way. Wandering the city without purpose. Cooking together sometimes with my partner or total stranger.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are several films that i would say “Triggering my desire to visit Europe”. First is “Le grand bleu” by french director Luc besson. Second goes to “Before sunset” starring Ethan hawke and julie Delpy. Third one would be “Youth” where the scenes were filmed in Davos, Switzerland, Rome and venice.

I brought a book with me in this trip, it is called “In praisse of shadows” by Junichiro Tanizaki. It is an old book published back in 1933 which discuss the traditional japanese aesthetic in contrast with modernisation impact inflicted by the western culture.

I like music, i dance when i am taking it all in. Indie band, underground music, classical, cinematic soundtrack, maybe i don’t have a solid preference on that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made a cargo bike with my group of friends with bare hands. Then we are invited to participate in the international cargo bike festival in Holland this summer!

Teach, Learn, Share

I brought a photo album (Print) with me. All photos were taken by me in Hong Kong. My profession allows to have a glance to different people’s lives. If you are interested to know more about Hong Kong. I could be your guide!

What I Can Share with Hosts

All the amazing interview with film directors, the hidden stories of Hong Kong people and their thriving culture. How to make a perfect tamagoyaki (Fried egg in Japanese style).
