I am italian, from Tuscany. I'm a PhD student in Geography and Sustainability at the University of Lausanne, with a project on climate justice movements and eco-spirituality. In the interesting part of my life, I try to discover as many things about the difficult world we live in, and to contribute as much as possible to its transformation in a sense of justice, participating as much as possible in the social and ecological movements where I am. Although I am certainly a person with a tendency to spend a lot of time on things considered "serious", I love to have fun and relax in the most varied ways, especially when I am traveling - something I love and that I do too little compared to how much I would like.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I signed up for Couchsurfing many years ago when I was traveling in the US. I haven't used it since. In fact, I was preparing for a trip to Northern Europe with my camper van, taking advantage of a conference in Gothenburg. However, my van had some problems and the trip was canceled, I was forced to go to Gothenburg by plane. Since I had already made up my mind to come to Copenhagen, I decided to give it a try anyway and to follow my partner's advice to try this platform.
I don't rule out, if it works, finally becoming a host too. In fact, I've always had a level of precariousness and nomadism such that it's difficult to become a host. However, now that I live (in a shared house) in very expensive Switzerland, I think it could be interesting and sensible to make yourself available. We'll see!

Interessen

"My interests" range from local and neighborhood social activism to the (difficult) fate of the planet. And in this same sense "I love to travel and meet beautiful people" :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love music but am a very poor expert in it. I have had friends who have guided me in discovering music despite having a very poor memory for cataloging it. Currently, I prefer jazz and fusion jazz to listen to, and tekno or dub to dance to. But I tend to be very open to knowing new things.
I was more into cinema some years ago. Anyway, I love Italian neorealism and (maybe there is a connection? I wonder as I write..) "La Haine" and the new films of the French director Ladj Ly
I live surrounded by books but I am a terrible reader. Due to a series of coincidences and passions, I studied too much and for too many years. I have therefore associated books with study and work, much more than with personal pleasure and relaxation.
Therefore, I read few novels. However, I have recently loved some historical novels by the Italian writers' collective "Wu Ming" and the latest book, psychedelic and brilliant, by Aldous Huxley: the island. To be clear..
In terms of non-fiction I read a lot of things, in a confused way as academic work "requires". My love in this field is the militant therapist Felix Guattari.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

As much as I try to take this operation seriously and shamelessly (very strange and new to me), I don't think “unbelievable” things and personal events should be put here, or on other digital platforms in general.
Anyway, I was almost arrested in Senegal over a silly matter of documents (which I did not have with me at the time). The story is amusing and I am quite willing to tell it in person. Much less amusing is the white privilege to which the amusing aspect of this story evidently relates. Indeed, in our own Europe, document problems are a matter of racism and, especially at its “borders,” a vital issue... While joking about life experiences, I think it is good to remember this reality.

I am having trouble interpreting this section and understanding how to fill it. In fact, I believe that everyone has so much to learn, teach and share. Otherwise, what are we here on planet earth for? :)

I am a good Italian cook, raised in a farmhouse in Tuscany where we cook for people from all over the world. I am also happy to help and learn new things, both at home and in the garden.
