About Me

In 2017, my 19 y.o. self felt stuffed with frustration, unfulfilment and disorientation. I needed a change, some sort of lifeshock. I've used the first opportunity presented to me, and right after finishing high-school I moved out of my home city, Prague. Life turned in my favor and I've spent close to 5 beautiful years in Aarhus (Denmark), where I finished a Bc degree in the field of Environmental management, got involved in organization of various events, found myself a priceless community of people, drank loads of wine while contempleting about the meaning of this all, and also found myself new forms of creative outlets. Meanwhile, I worked as a pizzaman (here my half-italian nature comes into play, i guess) and for shorter period of time also in a wood workshop. Don't ask about Danish weather, it is not worth discussing...

It was after my studies, year of 2021 AD, when I felt like I've exhausted all that this life-phase could offer me. Intuitively, travelling seemed to be exactly what I've needed, so I begun to save money and prepare myself for an expedition through the world's unknown. Since April 2022 I have pulled my thumb, succefully fetched my first autostop and - with nearly sociopatic excitement - begun my journey towards East. My dear girlfriend, Nerea, which I've met on my studies in Denmark, is currently making me the best travelling company I could wish for.

When you eventually meet us, you will see two short humans coming towards you, and likely won't resist to laugh from our oversized backpacks and sweaty faces. If you're curious, spontaneous, talkative and easy going like Nerea and me, you practically have a guarantee of having a good, if not an absolutely life-beating time with us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I dislike commercial tourism, and want to get the kind of experience that is truly worth it.

Interests

I have always been a curious type of person, who loved to dive into anything that had the power to shake me internally. Because of my mildly inattentive and hyperactive brain, I would try lots of things and drop them soon after. I used to play flute, football, skateboard, tried photography, film-making with my friends, become a home-producer of tobacco or what have you. Nothing of that really became a long-term thing.

One of my major interests for multiple years were the on-going environmental problems and all the social and political considerations linked with it. I believed, and still partially do, that this is the most meaningful direction I want to direct my energy into. What has changed over the years was mainly what I consider a meaningful action and how I can reconsile my personal life with creating a positive change in a decaying world.

Because of my personal health issues and of what I perceived as personally valuable and important, I started to study and practice various holistic health practices, such as yoga, meditation, bioenergetics, breathing practices, ecstatic dancing and some other forms of remedies. I didn't necesarily sticked to them all, but experimented with them to certain degree. With the intention to heal and understand myself better, I also combined my efforts with self-study of psychology.

Do you have somenormal hobbies, weirdo?
Sorry, I actually do. Just conversing in a good company, cooking with friends, chilling on a hamaka in a park, playing boardgames, listening to quality music, dancing to a good electo in a club, watching stupid shit on the internet, scrolling reddit, thinking and not thinking. Sipping some wine or beer along any of those activities is just a perfect fit.

To leave the crowds, to be spontaneous, not to double-think, to share, to laugh, to admire, to cry, to be unpredictable, adventurous, inspirational, to take action in life and make difference, to love and be loved is what matters to me the most.

Music, Movies, and Books

The following list may be a little outdated, but generally:

Musical shelf:
I adore The Black Keys, Air does a great job to space me out, Gorillaz, some electornic music like Weval, Christofler Loffler, Jan Blomquist, some classics like Claude Debussy and Tchaikovswki, the ryhmic experimentation of Son Lux, the grace of Moloko, the delicious base of Marcus Miller, or the playful flute of Jean-Pierre Rampal. There is not enough key strokes available to list all the music and genres I truly love.

Movies shelf
I love all the Wachowski sisters movies (especially the Matrix trilogy) David Lynch movies, 12 angry men, 12 monkeys, Fight Club, Tenacious D, LotR, Kubrick's movies (to certain degree). I also love to explore the independent movie scene from around the world, mainly those that depict the contemporary social and cultural underneaths whrough individual life-stories.

Literature - Orwell's1984, The Picture of Dorian Gray (Oscar Wilde in general), some of Bulgagov's books, Herman Hesse's Damian, Italian post modern literature such as Italo Calvino, the poetry of Aldo Palazzeschi or the existential sighs of Giacomo Leopardi. I shouldn't leave out Frank Herbert's Dune and nearly all of Murakami's novels. I also read (very slowly) theoretical books on mysticism, psychology and psychosomatics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

grew closer to my Self

Teach, Learn, Share

I am like a sponge my friend, I will love to learn anything you are willing to teach, or show me! In return, I will gladly share any of my knowledge, skills and insights (ofc if the time allows it). Alternatively, we can simply share each other's presence, spend the time in a simple and joyful manner - both options are great to me.

Dish for dish, thought for thought, hug for hug, gift for gift.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can give you hand with whatever you need - fixing stuff at home, writing in English, info on getting to Europe (getting you a contact person, if you need an invitation), or share my know-how on whatever I've listed above. I'm also pretty good in giving a massage.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Jordan, Montenegro, Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Viet Nam
