Overview
About Me
I'm a 25 year old American. I'd describe myself as friendly, open-minded, polite, and generally fun to be around. I worked in an eye clinic for 5 years and then decided to study abroad for a year. So now I'm currently living in Portland, OR, but I practically live at the airport on the weekends since I love to keep traveling and exploring.
I have a BIG interest in languages. A couple I've reached basic conversational level from just the internet, and I also have a knack for certain accents. I'm currently focusing on French but I still love to practice Spanish and Italian when I get the chance. Being a fan of languages, I also have a LOT of respect for multilingual people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I wouldn't say I'm the typical traveller, though I'm sure few surfers are. I tend to prefer to see a new country from the inside-out rather than from the outside-in... know what I mean? I'm not the kind of person who wants to ride a tour bus and take pictures and send postcards.
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to meet people from all over the world and experience the city the way THEY see it. Not from an American perspective.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Eating breakfast and watching the sunrise with the Roman Colosseum.
It might not sound like much to most people, but for someone who has been infatuated with ancient Rome since age 10, it was quite literally a dream come true.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always happy to help people with their English or Spanish, and you are welcome to laugh at my attempt to speak in your language if you wish. Haha! And if you already speak English or Spanish, you'll probably notice me pointing out Japanese characters and what they mean while walking down a street. :)
No matter the language, I would love to learn some of the slang of your language and what you love and hate about your city. Also, I want to know your favourite food and mixed drink!
Of course, I'm always happy to share a beer or glass of wine with you.
