About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Lets explore and put it into the bag of experiences. Shuffle it and see where it takes you.

ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm a guy who lived a few places around this globe thingy under our feet. The past 15 years hopping around with my passport in one hand and my suitcase in the other. Partly, I sometimes have felt more like a tourist in my home country, Denmark, than like a citizen of this.

Having grown up on a strawberry farm in the sticks I now live in this fairly overhyped island and city of lost souls aka London where I've set anchor for the past two years. This comes after having spent some time working in Sao Paulo. Now and then I return to the sticks to recharge my batteries before shooting off again. Whenever I have the chance I am on the run. Rarely sure exactly where to.

I'm a pensive charatcer. I tend to challenge the intermediate. I am very social. These aspects drive me, but are also my biggest challenge to overcome and to be without. I debate a lot, but for sure can also be quiet now and then. Sometimes I am boring and serious. Sometimes I am fun. Sometimes I am happy and full of confidence. Sometimes I'm restless, insecure and let my emotions carry me away. I am idealistic, but at the end of the day, surprisingly realistic of nature.

As for getting bread on the table, I work as a researcher on corporate activism. I believe the best way to motivate change for the better is from inside out. A pressing concern that I engage in is how to shift collective organised entities to aspire for objectives other than material wealth - so to say more wholesome corporate conduct. I shake up my cluttered headspace by expressing myself on stage as I'm also an active theatre performer. Taking the piss out of myself I find is an extremely liberating sensation.

PHILOSOPHY

*Empathy. Embrace being in the shoes of others, draw on different perspectives and avoid falling into judgmental fallacy trap.
*Respect. Acknowledging the interconnetion between people, animals and nature. For me there is no God, but I respect different beliefs. At the end its all molecules and atoms. We have this one life and what ever the case we are not going to get out of it alive, so make the best of it without condemning and plundering others. Act freely within the lines of identifying a certain point of responsible behaviour.
*Serendipity. Live life through explorations - it does not always bring the desired outcome but then is that necesserily a bad thing?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When its useful to others/myself + whatever it brings, be open for experiences, offer thoughts, time and space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have experienced some real good moments with people from CS and some real wacky ones too. Typically some interesting conversations that open up the mind. Sometimes mind blowing randomness. I believe that with trust you get far, and CS is all about that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Constant Gardener, An Education, Thank You For Smoking, The Motorbike Diaries, Ally

Music: Pearl Jam, Fever Ray, War on Drugs, Nightmare on wax, Mogwai, The Shins, Bob Dylan, Lenart Cohen, U2, Lykke Li, Pet Shop Boys, Prince, Queen. A twist between what can be melancholic, classic rock, easy electronic maybe sometimes in a jazzy'ish sense, and I admire funky performance. So give me Aqua or Life of Brian and I'll smile too ;)

Books: I like the idea of reading. But to be honest I am lazy, slow and too dump to understand half of what I read. I enjoy pushing boundaries, morality debates, essence provoking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 16 year old labrador jumping a 3 meter tall fence to get to join his partner :)happiness truly is more real when shared :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Travelling gives you so much. You learn a lot about people, culture and different ways of appreciating society. And the people you get really close to, you probably learn the most of. Whether friendship relationships, family or just people you bump into. If you open up to a fair extent there may be a lot to give and take.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Humbleness and simplicity.
