CURRENT MISSION

release me from temporal ties

ABOUT ME

Some of the things i like:cooking and eating, travelling(especially by train),reading, cinema, taking pictures, dancing, observing the sky, sleeping and dreaming, theater, internet, writing, taking a walk between 7 pm and 8 pm in summer, walking in general, the markets, colorful clothes, the milk when i come back home in the night, dogs, warm seasons, collecting tickets of everything (cinema,metro,train,museums..)and receipts, the disorder, the pastry stores, the tiny restaurants in seaside, the happy inebriation caused by the right drinks,pic-nic,landscapes with vineyards and sunflower fields, staying in the bed,the hazelnut milkshake, the waiting for something good, going to a concert and doing the queue for hours under the sun, discovering that people are not what they seem (sometimes),massages, the smell of suntan lotion and gasoline, the marinated ginger of sushi,my vanilla perfume, narrow streets, little towns without cars, words'right combinings, the common rooms of the hostals, sleeping in the car while it's reaning outside, downloading the soundtracks of movies i liked, the sensation of salt in the hair, when the postman ring my door-bell and i know he's bringing me the books i'd booked, when the fridge is full, speaking around a table, sitting on the statues for resting, resting in general(on a banch,on the grass),my big backpack, the night before a departure, feeling in the air something is gonna change.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're hesitating between doing or not doing something, just leave it: you'll think about it tomorrow.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

First time i did couch-surfing, i had never heard about it as a community:i was just travelling on a train with a friend, and some people seated next to us offered us a place to spend the night. It was not just one night:we stayed at their place for 3 days and that was one of the most unforgettable journey of my life. The moral is: i really appreciate spontaneous people who take part in c.s. because they really believe in an alternative way of travelling; on the contrary, i avoid those ones with thousands of references and stars on his/her profile: c.s. is not a social-network and it seems to me humanly impossible to get to know deeply so many people and have a great time with ALL of them, don't you think?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed quite a lot, particularly in Russia and South America, and everytime i found myself surprised to discover how generous people can be, without asking anything in return. The most "perfect" couch-surfing experiences are those ones that permit you to reverse roles:after being guest of a surfer, you become his/her host on the other side of the world: it happened me twice, and it was cool, really cool :).

Musica, film e libri

Once upon a time there were hundreds of books and movies written here. Now i think that an essential summary will be better.
Among the movies, i'll list all the works by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Fatih Akin, Woody Allen, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Paolo Sorrentino and Paolo Virzì. Other movies that i loved are The Hours, Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios,Juno,Little Miss Sunshine,Shortbus,Mar adentro, Goodbye Lenin!,Coffee and cigarettes...but i think one of the most perfect movies of the last years is Welcome by Philippe Lioret.

Books: I adore some classical italian authors such as Gadda, Calvino and Vittorini. I spent some of the best reading moments of my life thanks to colombian authors: Efraim Medina Reyes and Rafael Chaparro Madiedo. Books that made me say "Yes, that's exactly what i meant!" are Rayuela by Julio Cortazar, The Immortality by Milan Kundera, The Journals of Sylvia Plath, El libro del desasosiego by Fernando Pessoa, A Lover's Discourse : Fragments by Roland Barthes and, yes, even Madame Bovary (but when i read it for the second time: first time i was 14 and i stigmatized it as "the worst book i ever read"). And of course i shed tears of laughter when i read Nick Hornby's works.

Music: Bruce Springsteen comes first (his concerts, and the previous wait for them, are the best metaphor of life), then Goran Bregovic (and Balkan music in general: Kusturica, Shantel, Marcovic),Gogol Bordello, Beirut, Franz Ferdinand, Katzenjammer, Kaiser Chiefs.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Travelling around Europe one month for free: we just modified the date of the previous year inter-rail ticket. We were young and shameless...but no one stopped us!
