About Me
Hello all,
I am a first-generation Jamaican-American. I a recent college graduate. I just started working at an architecture firm in Santa Monica, California where we design high-end residential homes.
When I was 19 I joined a commune/humanitarian program, think of the peace core, that's kind of what it was. In this program, I traveled so much and made friends with people from all over the world. It had its difficulties but it was the best time of my life. I used to use Couchsurfing a lot but while I was in college I took a break from traveling and volunteering. I really miss that lifestyle and with the pandemic, it hasn't been easy to do at all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am not originally from Los Angeles, I grew up near Chicago. I always loved the walkability of Chicago, I love not having to drive and being able to walk and feel safe and explore different neighborhoods. LA is famously unwalkable. Everyone drives, everyone is isolated in their cars, and no one walks. I've learned that what makes me love a city is the ability to see life in the streets. It's strange you don't experience that so much in LA, the sidewalks are empty, especially with the pandemic. I think that the more walkable a city is the better the quality of life.
SO I would like to travel to walkable nice cities!
