About Me
I'm very easy going and I always try to be the best host or guest that I can be.
As a host, I really enjoy getting to know my guests, showing them the area, cooking, and enjoying meals together, however sometimes I am just too busy. Therefore, I really appreciate guests who can take care of themselves easily. I also really appreciate it when guests offer to help out a little with dishes, cooking, or other chores.
As a guest, I try to be the kind of guest that I would like to host. I love to get to get to know my hosts and I really appreciate the local information they often have. I also can easily take care of and entertain myself if a host doesn't have much time for me. I will always offer to help out around the place, whether it's cooking dinner, doing dishes, or mowing the lawn.
I am currently solo traveling in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam for 2 months.
Estoy aprendiendo espanol, y quiero practicar mas.
I'm also on warmshowers.org, which is like couchsurfing but for bicycle tourists, and I've done most of my hosting through that: https://www.warmshowers.org/user/131836
I haven't been living anywhere that I can host people for a few years now, but I'm looking forward to the day when I can start again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've really enjoyed the people I've met through couchsurfing and warmshowers.org. It's been super fun having guests from all over the world stay with me. One night I even had 11 guests staying with me and my roommate in the single wide trailer we were renting and it was so much fun. Here is my warmshowers account. https://www.warmshowers.org/user/131836

Music, Movies, and Books
My Favorite Author is John Steinbeck.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have done was when I worked as a crew leader for a company called Northwest Youth Corps. I was put in charge of groups of 10 youth, aged 16 to 19, for five weeks at a time. We worked in the woods of Washington building, and repairing trails, sometimes many miles into the backcountry. I was in charge of their work, chores, emotional support, discipline and every other aspect of their lives while out there. It was the hardest but most rewarding thing I have ever done.
This was nearly 10 years ago now. Since then I've fought forest fires, been a biologist on commercial fishing vessels, and taught school, but this was still the hardest most rewarding experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I homebrew beer. If people are interested, I can really geek out about it. If you think you might like to start doing it someday, I can definitely give you some good practical advice on getting started. The people I host will almost always get a chance to try some of my homebrew.
In the Pacific Northwest of the USA, I hunt mushrooms and can show you some edible varieties such as chanterelles, lobster mushrooms, King Boletes, and hedgehog mushrooms. I do not know the mushrooms of other regions very well and of course they must be in season for me to show you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am very social and love meeting new people. I take pride in being a good guest.
