I am a Postdoctoral researcher who investigates water use of crops and riparian vegetation to improve irrigation efficiency and conserve water. I also research the use of green infrastructure to clean water naturally and improve the riparian habitat especially in urban areas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need to travel constantly due to my job and also for fun, and I think by staying in pricey hotels not only are we supporting capitalism system but also we are missing big opportunities to meet interesting people and learn from different points of view. I think that every new person that we meet changes us forever (and it changes the other person as well), because we are now able to see an aspect of humanity from a different perspective; and I just think that continuously learning and meeting new people is critical and fascinating.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading about spirituality, opening our awareness of who we are and what is our purpose, and also about science and technology in general. One of my favorite hobbies is watching all types of movies, so long as they convey a strong message. My favorite movies to watch are old classics from the 40s, through 60s. I think that the music in the 80s and 90s is the best that has ever been. I love discussing all types of topics and I am always excited to engage in intellectual and philosophical conversations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have written a coupe of scientific journal papers in the Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering as the first author and I just think that is pretty cool.
