About Me

I'm a half English-half Japanese born and raised in Brazil. Because my family is all over the place and my father works as a freelance cameraman, I'm often travelling either to visit them or to quench our thirst for adventure and new experiences.
I have just graduated as a civil engineer and I am specializing in facility management to help make the world more sustainable.
I love participating in outdoor activies from learning how to throw a boomerang, ride a monocycle to any kind of sport (but especially basketball). Though sometimes I like to take it easy and just go for a pub with friends or to meet new people.
I consider myself a really easy going guy, non confrontational and try to help out people as best as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I prefer staying in one place for at least a week instead of hoping around different locations. The reason is that I feel that to truly experience a place and its culture, you need enough time to form relationships with people, especially locals so you can FEEL what it is like to be part of the place and culture. This feeling is unique wherever I go and I treasure it much more than any great view or paid activity.

Couchsurfing is a clear opportunity to connect with the locals and with the travelling community. This platform has me already meeting and connecting to people even before I step on a plane!

Music, Movies, and Books

Eletronic music can me feel like it's pumping my heart when I'm enjoying it, my absolut favourites being Opus from Eric Prydz or the Interstella 5555 album from Daft Punk.

I love watching and discussing movies, it's very hard to choose a favourite one so I'll pick three: V for Vendetta, Silence of the Lambs and Whiplash. I am thrilled when the characters are very three dimensional and the conflict of the story peels off the layers one by one reaching deep within them to find their answer.

I used to devour fantasy novels and my last one was the first book of Game of Thrones but nowadays during my free time I tend to watch series and movies or study japanese.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2014 I worked at DisneyWorld in Orlando in the U.S. as a character performer! I played multiple characters like Goofy, Woody and Sully. It was a surreal job, where I made lifetime friends, enjoyed every single day and really made a difference to the experience of a lot of guests in the Disney parks and hotels.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Effective and sustainable waste management
How to be more sustainable and find solutions to lesser water and energy consumption
Basketball (I have been playing regularly for 11 years)
Microsoft Excel (bread and butter of my past two jobs)
Organize emails
Learn: I'm not much of an artist or a musician even though I'd try the hell of it given an opportunity. Generally I'm open to learning anything in cooking or physical or mental skill.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a pro at washing dishes and entertaining children! That was my role with my 4 kids-host family for two months in Japan. I can also help by doing grocery shopping and cleaning in the house.
