Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Immerse myself in the global community, sharing life experiences
ABOUT ME
I'm a PhD student in Pathology at Dalhousie University... I think that makes me a permanent student. I study heart failure and tattoos, believe it or not.
I was born in Nova Scotia and have lived here my entire life, but in my free time, I try to explore the world as much as possible. If I have a few days free, I'm probably out for a hike or off on my bike. If I have a week or two, I'm on a plane off to explore something new. I'm an avid traveller, spanning from Hawaii to Hungary and Canada to Ecuador. My recent travels include hiking through the Alps with my Hungarian friend Tamas and tagging on a side-trip to Malta after a conference in Lisbon.
My other hobbies include photography, cooking, music, rock climbing, swimming, running, and cycling.
I share a roomy apartment with my girlfriend Kerry, my German friend Jakob, and my two cats, Plato and Lilla. They're two of the friendliest, but most peculiar cats you'll ever meet. They're known to eat mango and avocado.
PHILOSOPHY
You can't be happy until you're living for yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to couchsurfing, but have hosted friends, friends of friends, and family before. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing new stories. I'm looking to get more involved in hosting through couchsurfing and hopefully have some opportunities to couchsurf in June when I head back to Europe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never couchsurfed before, but I have worked with HelpX - a program similar to WWOOFing. I've done work stays all over England and in France. My friend and roommate Jakob suggested couchsurfing - he's had great experiences using couchsurfing around the USA.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: you name it, I'll give it a chance - I'm a big fan of comedy though.
Music: I used to listen to a lot more variety and you'll occasionally hear me listening to classical, classic rock, folk, and rock, but I'm a huge fan of electronic and trance.
Books: I love reading about immunology/health and travel
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed a volcano in Maui, explored the jungles of Ecuador, survived avian flu in Europe, traversed the Alps beginning in Chamonix, battled with Dengue virus in Mexico... my life has been one big adventure.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love helping and teaching, be it travel knowledge or teaching students in my lab. I want to share my experiences with the people I meet and vice versa.
