ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as a very open minded and curious person. It fascinates me to see new things, meet new people, and have new experiences. I desire to travel the world and learn not just about the histories and sights but also the people and the culture. I like to truly immerse myself in the different cultures of the world and forget for a time that I am American. I believe that staying in a resort and going to expensive restaurants ruins a travel experience and causes you to miss out on what is truly great about a place.

PHILOSOPHY

Recently I have adopted a new life philosophy from a quote that I came across. “Sometimes you just have to take the leap, and build your wings on the way down.” This inspirational quote has transformed into my personal philosophy. I try to live my life bravely and not let fear or anything else stand in the way of me living every moment to the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in the CS project by being open to being a tour guide to any person traveling through Atlanta. I do not have a couch to offer up but I can take you out for a night on the town and show you where are the good eats are. Atlanta is a great and diverse city and there is always a lot to see and experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have not had any couch surfing experiences. I am hoping to change that when I head to Italy in September. I am hoping to meet some great people and have lots of new experiences.

Interests

Clearly travel is my main interest at the moment. But I am not just limited to international travel. I love to travel anywhere, anytime. Especially if it is some place new. I am also interested in scuba diving and backpacking. I just recently became Advanced Open Water certified and can’t wait to put that to use.

Music, Movies, and Books

My interest in music is vast and teasingly diverse. I enjoy everything from the popular music to blues, jazz, rock, and country. There are many genres I do not enjoy. I also like suspense movies and fictional books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that I have done in my lifetime is become involved in the TOMS One for One movement. As the leader of the TOMS Campus Club at my University I organized many events to promote the movement and help to give shoes to children in need.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some thing that I could contribute to the future CouchSurfing University is my knowledge of scuba diving and backpacking. Also simply sharing the culture and experiences of the U.S.
