About Me

ABOUT ME

My name is Alejandra and I am originally from Colombia, however..I lived outside of the country from the age of 10 until I was 22 years old.

I lived seven years in the United States, five years in Canada and now I am back living in my homeland :) Obviously, moving is part of me now. Moving so much has its pros and cons, but I can honestly say that my life has most definitely been enriched by all the experiences I have lived and all the different people I have met. That is something that I am looking forward to gaining more of through this Couchsurfing website!

I am very adventurous and love to travel! I strive to make any experience an enriching one; one that will teach me something and that will bring me out of my comfort zone in some way. I am excited to meet new people and see new things; learn about new cultures! To truly immerse myself in a culture is how I think I will really see and learn from everything around me.

I am also a Christian :D My faith is the most important thing in my life!! I realize that I have been given so much and for that reason I want to, in some small way, help others. I want to share my life with anybody that is willing to come along and hear me. I want to see the world and I think this is an amazing way to do so!

Aside from all of this, I am a happy person. I love photography! It is a big passion of mine, I carry my camera everywhere I go and take pictures of everything!! You can definitely expect to see me with a camera and be ready to pose :) I love to talk, laugh and learn new things. I love reading, writing, swimming, hiking, camping. Sharing my experiences is something I also love doing. Meeting new people is something that makes me excited and I look forward to it!

PHILOSOPHY

My faith is what I hold on to the strongest.

I believe education and experience is one of the most important things in life that nobody can take away from another human being.

Love can conquer through anything.

Laughter is the best medicine!

Friendships are a blessing and having a good friend, is more precious than gold.

Family matters a lot!

There is no goal too hard to achieve; if you really want it, you can accomplish anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first CouchSurfing experience not too long ago and I met a person who is now a friend. It was awesome! Shoutout to Sebas :)

After, in 2017, I backpacked 3 months around Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and the north of Chile. I stayed with many members of the CS community during this trip and it was amazing!

I wanna travel the world and keep meeting people! I want to see how locals live, where they eat and what they do. Experience the culture and learn the tips and tricks of it all :D

Interests

I like to try new things.

Different cultures interest me, as well as different languages, different perspectives, different atmospheres. I would love to see a glimpse of everything in the world.

I love to sit and read a good book, or listen to some good music. I love hearing stories and sharing mine.

I obviously love traveling and I also love learning, it is a blessing to be able to learn new things everyday.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: I have a really wide range of tastes in music..I like mostly anything. However, some of my favorites are rock en español, indie, electronic, house, folk, 70s and 80s music, alternative.

MOVIES: I am really into psychological thrillers and some good drama and comedy movies!

BOOKS: I am an avid reader. I mostly read classics when it comes to books or articles online about Christianity, science, new things, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked up to Macchu Picchu. It was the most exhausting thing I have ever done in my life but 150% worth it. It wasn't just the hike, the whole trip to get to and from MP was an odyssey, one of the best stories I have to tell.

Seeing a sunrise over the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. Something out of this world.

Seeing a sunset and the most amazing night sky over the Desierto de Atacama in Chile. The night sky there its to die for. I saw shooting stars left and right.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I can teach?

I can teach English! Also, I can teach any tips and tricks that I know about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories, a good laugh and some hot tea :D
