About Me
Hi everyone, I'm Ale! Basically after craving cultural exchange in the city where I grew up, I embarked on a year of travel when I was 17, starting with an student exchange in Belgium and then solo adventures for six month in which this platform became the best travel experience I could've had. I've always been passionate about cultural understanding, having hosted a Portuguese exchange student who became like family. That passion led me to volunteer for the past 3 years as an AFS counselor for exchange students, working under the mission of building bridges between cultures for a more tolerant world, and I see Couchsurfing as a short-term version of that. Balancing travel with my studies, I'm nearing completion of my software engineering degree and I'm currently in Europe again volunteering for the Paris 2024 Olympics which I'm very excited about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love Couchsurfing because it combines my passions for cultural exchange and meeting interesting people. There's no better way to experience a place than through the eyes of a local, and for me, getting off the beaten path and making new friends is an essential part of travel.
Interests
I'm all about diving into new cultures, meeting amazing people, and exploring vibrant cities! I love learning new things, so if you have a hidden talent or local knowledge to share, I'm all ears. Up for a language exchange or cultural swap

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kind of music, I grew up listening to classical music that my dad played, I also really appreciate a party with good music but in my chilling moments I love to listen to jazz, bossa nova or folk music from Argentina, and in mi karaoke moments, which is driving and the shower, I go with rock!
I’m an addict to films and series, I’ve watched to many of them, which affected my sleep. I could go on and on about all kind of movies from comedys to science fiction, horror, etc.
In today’s world i find it so difficult to read, there is always to many distractions. I don’t read that much as I used to. Latest books that I liked were: homo deus, the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, 100 años de soledad, Pedro Páramo, Crónica de una muerte anunciada, un petit pays
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For incredible experiences, skydiving and bungee jumping in New Zealand definitely top the list! Volunteering for the Paris Olympics is another highlight, and of course, traveling extensively throughout Argentina has been amazing. I also had a blast on my exchange program in Belgium, solo traveling, and hosting a Portuguese exchange student who became like family.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm happy to share my knowledge of Argentinian and Latin American culture. If you're interested in learning Spanish I'm always happy to help! I'm a big believer in the power of conversation, and for me, there's nothing better than sharing a beer and good company and anecdotes with new friends.
