Overview
About Me
I'm optimistic and happy, especially when the sun is shining.
I'm interested in a lot of things and feel like life is cool and full.
I keep busy, exploring the beauty of the UK, spending time with my communities, volunteering with a mental health service and working as a support worker
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's the people who I've met who've always made my journeys so memorable, and I appreciate that so much.
I've met up with people from all over the world in any country I've been to, and done some fantastic things with them, such as kayaking and attempting to surf.
I've been hosted by some absolutely incredible people and made such great friends who I miss so much.
I've hosted people from many countries, some of whom have become my housemates. So far I've hosted people from:
Germany, Italy, Argentina, France, Slovenia, Spain, Denmark, Hong Kong, Australia, Switzerland, England, Canada, China, USA.
I've also arranged a few events for CSers such as hiking in the Lake District, a weekend at Alton Towers - a theme park with big rollercoasters - and lots of tasty meals out. For my last weekend with Leeds CSers (who are wonderful), I organised a school sports day with another CSer and it was awesome! I've never seen such a competitive bunch of grown ups trying to win the sack race.
Interests
I like to be outdoors, preferably in good weather and sunshine. I love to swim in rivers and walk in the woods, and to sit with a hot chocolate and enjoy the views.
I'm into aerial hoop and arty things.
I'm into politics and the environment, talking about waste and consumerism.
I don't travel as much as I used to as I don't have the energy, but I love putting a mattress in the back of the car, driving with someone and sleeping wherever takes our fancy. I'm trying to reduce my global impact so traveling more by bike, foot, ferries and overland.
I'm happy to be exploring the local area. I love Leeds and Yorkshire and am a big advocate for UK holidays. We have such beauty all over.
I started travelling when I was seventeen, working at the Russ Foundation in Madurai, India. Having made such awesome friends there, I've been back four more times and also travelled around with my brother and my dad.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read and recently joined the library which is encouraging me to read even more. The last book I read was Inglorious Empire by Shashi Tharoor which detailed the atrocities of the British colonialisation of India.
I mix reading fact and fiction, and spend a lot of time thinking about and discussing what I'm learning.
My favourite series of books are The Fifth Season by N K Jemisin and His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman.
What I like listening to changes depending on my mood. It's usually a combination of chilled DnB, soul, indie and rock eg. Fred V & Grafix, Incubus, Arcade Fire, Laura Mvula.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed up a waterfall in Wales and it felt as though I was in a fairytale.
The autumnal leaves were turning oranges and reds, the water was gurgling and the mountains were sleeping.
