ABOUT ME

hi, I'm Alessandra.

I grew up in Bologna (Italy), where I lived until the age of 26. I then moved to London, which has now become my home and I even married an Englishman!
I worked for 12 years as a research chemist and I have always loved travelling and meeting new people. I recently decided to change jobs, but before looking for another job I have decided to go on a round-the-world trip for 6 months with my husband and I'm hoping to meet lots of interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any CS experiences yet, I hadn't even heard until 2 weeks ago and now I'm really excited about it!!

Interests

Travel is probably my main interest, meeting new people, new cultures, trying out new food...
I also love photography, I have done a couple of courses to learn the basics and now I'm hoping to take lots of photos. I love watching and discuss films, I belong to a little film club which meets every few months. Similarly I love reading books and talking about them with friends.
I also like cooking even though I never seem to have enough time for it...

Music, Movies, and Books

Generally I love independent, 'art-house' films, even though I do enjoy the odd mainstream movie...

In terms of music, at the moment I listen to bands like Muse, Kasabian, Maximo Park, The Killers, Placebo, Snow Patrol and I love going to gigs!

As for books I am reading The lovely bones by Alice Sebold. Amongst my favourite authors are Ian McEwan, Paul Auster, Margaret Atwood and Isabelle Allende.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked the Inca Trail in Peru, I know it sounds a bit cliche' but it was actually a fantastic experience!
