About Me

I'm a resigned 35-old worker constantly dreaming of a backpackers life :')
I grew up in Rome but I have been living in Sardinia for 10 years and I visited almost everything on the island mostly by car road trips or hiking for several days. The record for now is 6 days without resupply :)

I'm an ex basketball player but now I play tennis and the drums (wanna try?), I like camping, diving and swimming, sailing on sailing boats, acting in the theatre, gardening and growing vegetables. I can play chess and card games, and like reading and doing puzzles while listening to music or podcasts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up on couchsurfing because I believe it's a genuine and edifying tool to put in contact people sharing the same sense of community and hospitality. It's a good way to meet new friends, or even just to make something good for the traveler's community with no need to receive something back.

Interests

I love walking and reaching high peaks of mountains, especially if there's a beautiful sunset to see. I'm really in love with nature: it's the best refuge from my routine, it relaxes me and helps me forget all the problems of everyday life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a great music fan and I usually listen to all genres, but I like in particular classic rock of 70-80's as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Queen, Eagles, Dire Straits, but also Metallica, Guns 'n Roses and Porcupine Tree.

I have never been really in love with cinema, so I seldom watch some films (better if andventure ones) or I tragically fall into some psychic vortex called The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Lost, Prison Break or other bad things like these.

I like reading science fiction novels (Asimov), police novels (italian Commissario Montalbano), historic books or contemporary politics, travel romances and adventurous ones, but among my favourite books of all time I have to mention "1984" by George Orwell and "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A 3 weeks sailing boat tour with a friend around Sardinia, a 12-days coast-to-coast walk in central Italy and backpacking trips in Peru, Thailand and Balcans.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you like Sardinia, we'll definitely get along. I visited plenty of places so I can be a good guide.
I have a 4WD car 'cause I love gravel roads (there's such an endless web of them) so when I have enough time, I pack up all the camping stuff and leave for few days to go on adventure.
So if you have spare time and want to, we can go somewhere to visit waterfalls, canyons, archeological sites, old mines plants, ancient abandoned villages, ruins of medieval castles and military bunkers.
Otherwise, if you want to visit on your own, I will suggest you something cool to see or do according to your likes.
