About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get closer to the type of man I'd love to be through the intercultural confrontation

ABOUT ME

I'm a solo traveler, confident yet down to earth and grounded. Eventually I consider myself like a melting pot of cultures as: I love food like only an Italian does, I work hard like a German, I'm "pure et dure" like a French, I'm laid back like an Aussie, chilled like a Kiwi from the South and I have the sense of humour of an Irish. Indeed, I hate stereotypes and describing myself 😜. I like exchanging experiences and ideas with people from any part of the world, get to know different cultures and ways of living. I'm a yes man so I let life show me the way.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to become a better person everyday by knowing something more about myself and the world around me. I believe in respect and acceptance so I don't like stepping on anyone to reach the goals that I wanna achieve.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As long as my heart will keep beating I will travel my ass off. there's no better way to experience a country like couchsurfing. That's why I host/surf as much as I can. I want to squeeze this amazing thing called life till the last drop.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started to host when i lived in new Zealand and I realized how addictive it is. I decided to stay in barcelona for a while as it's a very enjoyable city to live :) I have a high consideration of the couchsurfing concept. I think that it gives us the chance to grow as people and get over the preconceived fears that stop us from being great by giving. It is highly important for me to host and being hosted by people who are keen to share their time and experiences and not only to have free accommodation for a night when I barely see them. I disagree with the new administration of cs (I don't mind if u get verified and pay them) and I try to keep up the amazing idea that funded this awesome website based on the selfless giving and sharing. Please write vila micana on your request if you would like to be taken into account.

Music, Movies, and Books

Cinematography has always attracted me for its unique way to communicate. although I must admit that not having a TV since my early 20s has affected the amount of movies I watch. a movie that I'd use as an example is "relatos salvajes" (wild tales) which I first watched in Berlin while couchsurfing at Marvin's.

I'm extremely eclectic about music: from opera to hard rock (SOAD, ACDC, slipknot...), alternative like 'Long arm' or widely spread like 'red hot chilli peppers', MPB, samba, bossanova, jazz, reggae and many more. I love getting to know new artists from all over the world and music styles so I might ask you for your playlist...

I try to read as much as I can: one of my favourite writers is Isabel Allende (the first books were better) but I vary a lot. I tend to read in the language of the writer to get the real stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

pound the bell at midnight on NYE in Kyoto and feel the vibrations it irradiated, sky diving and bungee jumping on the same day with the great barrier reef as a background, feeling complete and happy with nothing but the sound of the waves crushing on the shore at the sunset in calabria. A mesmerising trip on a hot air balloon in kapadokya, Turkey. Meditating at the Japanese gardens in toulouse and suddenly find a cat sleeping in my arms when I got back to reality. Riding a helicopter over iguazu falls.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you brief lessons of Italian gesture language. I love cooking so I could show you some recipes! I think that every day is school day so I'm open to learn and share anything that comes on the top of your head ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

experiences' exchange, knowledge about my city, tips about moving abroad, a lot of chat, some laughs or at least a smile hopefully, my cooking skills (I love cooking for other people) and a lot more! :)
