About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To leave behind the familiar and boldly face the unknown.

ABOUT ME

I'm a down-to-earth kinda guy, very curious about the world and the society we live in, rather skeptical about self-proclaimed elites and moral authorities.
In order to become a journalist I moved to Vienna five years ago, which was the best decision in my life so far, because I've made great friends here and fully embraced the city life style. You have to know that I grew up in rural Upper Austria on the farm of my parents, more or less cut off from the world (except for TV and Internet of course). Now I'm enjoying life in the city and trying to make it as a journalist.

PHILOSOPHY

Be and let be, don't proselytize anyone and question yourself first

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer my couch to travelers who visit Vienna. And whenever I'm travelling I try to meet other Couchsurfers and get to know the city/place through their eyes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've encountered very generous and helpful people, was surprised by how much trust hosts I had just met invested in me and overall I've fallen in love with this project :-)

International Relations, political systems, cultural differences and the common human denominator, philosophy, religions and ethics, history, science fiction, satire, edgy TV series and movies, TV news production, (computer) games, jogging, hiking, chilling with friends in the park or a public space (MQ anyone),...

teach: how to make your own (mini-)movie, unlock all cars and characters at Mario Kart Wii and cook original Austrian "Fleischknödel" (meat dumplings)

learn: foreign costums and dishes, drinking games, good literature, bands and movies... and any kind of useless knowledge in existence!
