About Me

I'm a relaxed, easy-going person who enjoys time alone watching movies while having a glass of wine. I practice buddhism, am vegetarian and live by myself with my two sibling cats: Tina and Coppola.

I teach behavioral sciences in a Masters program and work as a marketing director for a software company.

I try to live a simple and peaceful life, so I don't have any social media and - other than to watch movies - try to keep my eyes off screens as much as possible.

I'm an social introvert who enjoys time with people, but I do need my time alone to recharge energies, so more than five days may be too much, but I'm open to exceptions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great way to learn more about other human beings, get in contact with different cultures and help people.

Interests

- Cinema: I watch A LOT of films.
- Reading: I try to switch between fiction (pretty much any kind), classics and non-fiction (I specially read a lot about behavioral sciences).
- Music: playing piano, drums or guitar.
- Learning, in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: lots. I could talk about this for hours.

Music: pretty much everything except for trance and some metal genres, but Dave Matthews Band sits among the most consistent favorite artists throughout my life.

Books: probably "Noticias del Imperio" by Fernando del Paso (a historic novel on the Second Empire in Mexico).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ayahuasca and sky diving. Running a marathon might qualify as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I'm not an expert on anything, but I know a bit about Mexico's history and quite abut about cinema and art. If you are learning Spanish I can help with that as well. If you come visit Mexico City I can show you around.

What I Can Share with Hosts

WITH HOSTS:

1) I'm neat and very respectful of others' space and stuff. I'm usually quiet and open to pretty much everything.
2) If the hosting rules include washing dishes, contributing with provisions or cooking, I'm perfectly fine with that.
3) I'll let you know my agenda: when will I be out and when will I come home (if you wish to know, of course).

FOR SURFERS:

1) I only have one individual spare mattress (couples can stay in the same bed of course and I think that'd be the only exception to the one-guest rule) and I've never slept in the couch but I don't think it's very comfortable. High speed WiFi and laundry at home.

2) By accepting you here, I'm also allowing you to use everything you can find. This includes a computer. Feel free to grab something from the fridge or cook. Just don't use my toothbrush.

3) To me CS is not a free hotel but a sharing experience, so I commit to show you around and do my best so you can have a good time. I do not accept guests on days when I know I won't be acceptably available for them. On the other hand, it's OK if you prefer me to leave you alone BUT you should help with the dishes, keep everything clean and ordered and let me know about your plans so that I can know what to expect.

4) No partying or gatherings or visits at my place without letting me know first. I'll probably always say yes and can even provide some mezcal, but please just ask in advance.

5) Communication is important. If you do not have a cellphone or any other means of communication, leave me a note. Even if I'm not home, I wish to know if you're showing up after 12 (or not showing up at all).

7) You can smoke in the balcony and I'm 420 friendly (really friendly), but please do not bring anything else home.

8) And last, but not least: please, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! If you need to stay a couple more nights than what you initially requested: a. Let me know in the request (if by the time you request you see any possibility for this of happening), b. Let me know IN ADVANCE. Why? Well, first of all, because of respect. Secondly, because I might be hosting somebody else right after you and there's no room for two unless you want to sleep on the floor.
