About Me

Hey! I'm Alejo. 27th. Morning and Owl person. Colombian & I got bored of the typical and stable plan that all my friends and colleagues are currently engaged, quit my job and start traveling around the world. My journey starts in Mexico and continues in Europe, Asia and (probably) New Zealand. I'm a value-based and energetic person that always are wondering to say yes to any plan that involves cultural engagement, new learnings and a lot of fun. I represent very well my country on our amazing traditions. Last, I enjoy a lot to go deep on powerful conversations such as personal & professional development, economics and politics, and on any chit chat that catch my interest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a solo traveler, I want to get involved on the different cultures and ways to see the life from all the places that I want to know, that's why I start my journey at Couchsurfing, because I consider these platform an amazing opportunity to know more than the typical and touristic perspective from a travel while I prepare myself my personal project that motivates me to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open minded in terms of music. As a colombian, I deeply enjoy music to dance, but also I love rock, classics, even pop (Dua Lipa was one of the most importants findings in 2021).

On books, mostly novels or theoretical books, but also I enjoy books that teach you something. Also, I'm a very good reader so I accept the challenge!

Movies: my favorite is The Godfather, my favorite serial are Breaking Bad and on the eternal battle Friends vs. Seinfeld, I choose Kramer. No Scary Movie, Epic Movie or that kind of comedies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit my job and start traveling around the world. From Cancun to Madrid, to Madrid to go around Europe. finishing in Zurich. From Zurich to Bangkok. From Bangkok to Singapore. From Singapore to Indonesia, and I don't know the rest. That journey are extremely scary and fascinating.

Teach, Learn, Share

I consider myself as a generalist. I know a lot of stuff, so I can Teach, Share and Learn w/ or from you (from basics to technical):
• A very good conversation from my country on three languages that I'm fluent (Spanish, English and Portuguese)
• House basics, including kitchen & cooking. I'm not an expert on cooking, but I really enjoy (we can organize a Colombian party too)
• I'm not a photo expert, but if you want to go to a Instagrammable place, count on me!
• Some stuff related with Economics (Bachelor in Economics) or Data Analysis (5 years of experience on that field)
• Personal brand or soft skills related stuff (Passionated on that): Social networks, LinkedIn profile boost, project portfolio, CV management, how to find a dreamed job, etc.

I want to learn about languages, cultures and your personal perception about the world. And sure, all the knowledge that I have, I want to share w/ you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

• Some colombian snacks that is on my bag
• All the Teach, Learn, Share section, count on me!
