About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore. Discover. Learn. Embrace. Repeat.

ABOUT ME

I tend to develop and nourish the same qualities I look for in other people - to be open minded, openhearted and all that other lovely stuff written a few sections below :) Positive thinking is maybe my strongest feature, although it sometimes annoys my friends :D
I like to travel a lot (surprise, surprise), experience new things and meet new people. "I'm in love with places I've never been to and people I've never met", as was nicely summed up by someone wise.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't spend much time and energy eating yourself up over some bad thing that happened, looking for someone to blame. Instead, see what you can do to repair the damage, and try to figure out what good can come out of the current situation. There is always something..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, by visiting other people and convincing them how great and wonderful I am, so that they might wish to come and visit me once I'm done with making my flat presentable to others :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None of my own so far.. But I did hang out with guests of my friends. One time we got really drunk with some Russian guy, and ended up singing something that was supposed to resemble Soviet Union anthem.. in the middle of the street.. at 3 am.. in January :D

Interests

Piloting an airplane :) I've always wanted to be a pilot, but didn't have the money for it.. programming was the next best thing :) Apart from that - cycling, swimming, hiking, basketball, dancing, stand up comedy, languages, exotic food, new cultures..

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Lord of the Rings, Fight Club, Schindler's List, Lord of War, Donnie Darko, In Bruges..

Music - a bit of everything, but mostly rock, house and alternative. The Black Keys have been on top of my list lately :)

Books - entire work of J.R.R. Tolkien, entire work of Arthur C. Clarke, Mars trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson, Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, Bridge over river Drina by Ivo Andric..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Inter rail trip a few years back, while I was still a student. Five countries, fifteen days, twenty six trains :) I had to work for three months on some temp field job (two of those three during a very cold winter) solely to pay for the trip, but it was worth every cent. It was quite an achievement for me at the time :)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you come to visit Belgrade, DO NOT use taxies that have plain white sign with only Belgrade city coat of arms on it. They are freelancers, and will charge a lot more than they should, especially when they see you're a foreigner. Use the large, established companies' cabs instead, the ones you can call with 1980* number (19801, 19802, etc.).
