Hello, world!

I'm journalist from Russia, working in everyday newspaper and on radio. I’m writing about social problems: human rights, environmental, drugs, HIV, education, political and art activism, political prisoners, war conflicts etc. I’m a friend of Pussy Riot, Greenpeace and WWF volunteer; I was nominated as “Author of the year” by Russian GQ magazine and as “Keeper of the Taiga” by Greenpeace. I love journalism and still working 24/7 even on vacations )
I lived at anarchist squats in Poland and in millioner's houses in France, I went on skies to the North Pole and traveled by hitchhiking. I was in hot Syria and some very cold Arctic expeditions. So, I love to know something new about our world.

Interests

I love animals and I have 3 cats and a horse. I'm vegetarian, but not a fanatic and it's not a problem if you're not, I respect your choice)

And I really love reading (mostly science fiction, good fantasy and magic realism), I have near a 1000 books at home. And, of course, poetry -- my favourite poet is Ted Huges. Also, I love Polish and Russian poetry.

But more than anything, I love the cities, old and modern) I see the real magic in the maze of streets, in the windows of houses, cars and neon lights. I love the night cafes, music clubs, squats - a placees where people find their destiny.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music very much -- all interesting groups and singers, from dark folk, gothic and black metal to singers like Tory Amos and Leonard Cohen). I love Current 93 and very inspired by Psychic TV and Genesis P-Orrige.
I’m not very good in cinema, but I love films like “Leon”, “Dune”, “Amelie”, “Pride”, “Parada” etc. Also I like “Game of Thrones”, “Fater Ted”, “Book of Daniel”, “Black Books”, “Horace and Pete”, “Criminal Minds” etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My life is my work ) and it helps me to see interesting places and live in interesting situations.

Once I was in a ski polar expedition: two weeks on ice and snow and neverending day. Another time I was on Arctic expedition on self-made off-road vehicles. I was in Chernobyl 4 times, and many another interesting places.
