Sobre mí

My Instagram if you want to see your future host or guest 😅: alelisfox It is also my telegram.

My name is Aleks (but in Russian people call me Sasha). I am an outstanding Russian geologist. I am positive, cheerful, sociable, open-minded, smart enough, and a little too modest 😄. Despite my young age, my life has taken me around the world. By the age of 25, I had already visited many countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and finally Australia.

I have worked in a UNESCO scientific expedition in the very north of the Arctic Ocean and have been to the northernmost oil field. I have also participated in an engineering project in Uzbekistan and Morocco. However, my career has not been limited to geology; I have also taught at school, been a manager in an IT company, and even freelanced as a graphic designer 😅😅😅.

I studied at the main university in Russia, also known as "Lomonosov Moscow State University," which is considered the highest academic building in the world and a top must-see place in Moscow 🏰. After that, I enrolled in a British petroleum engineering program of London Imperial College and Kazan Federal University. Unfortunately, due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, I could not finish my studies and had to leave my country.

For a year, I traveled the world, visiting various countries, and eventually settled in Australia. I am currently completing my Master's degree at the University of Wollongong 🇦🇺.

I enjoy traveling and do it quite often, both for work and leisure. City trips, mountain hiking, mountain cycling, river rafting, camping, skiing, geological expeditions, and scientific sea cruises—all of these are activities I love 😁. I also enjoy music, dancing, books, science, history, and politics 🌐, but my main passion is geography.

I adore middle-eastern culture, especially after visiting Iran. And I'm trying to keep a bit of oriental hospitality at home. You can find various artifacts from my travels in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia at my home.
I also love Latin America, especially the southern part (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay). I also have many artifacts from those countries, including my Spanish language.

I live with my husband. We have an international family (I am Russian, and he is Tatar), and we got married in May 2023 in Argentina.

I am fluent in Russian, English, and Spanish. However, my Spanish is a bit weaker, and I rarely practice it in Australia.

I really enjoy talking and spending time with hosts and guests. We can walk together, go to the city center, parks, or outskirts. We can watch movies, visit museums, attend exhibitions, couchsurfers meetings, go camping, or visit friends' homes.

So, I hope to meet you 😉

• It's also just plain fun!
• Plus, I don't have enough money or desire to stay in hotels 😅.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I've participated in many mountain and water trips, with one of the most memorable being a month-long hike in the Caucasus. During that expedition, we conquered 16 passes and reached the peak of Elbrus. I've also explored the mountains of Altai on the border of Kazakhstan and Russia.

In 2022-2023, I embarked on a journey around the world, following this route: Russia - Kazakhstan - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Tajikistan - India - Oman - UAE - Turkey - Ethiopia - Argentina - Uruguay - Chile - Paraguay - Brazil - Peru - Bolivia - New Zealand - Australia.

My move to Australia itself is quite remarkable.

Additionally, I participated in a scientific expedition (Cruise) in the extreme north, where I researched parts of the seabed that had never been studied before 😎

And to top it off, I got married on the other side of the world.
