About Me

I was born in Naberezhnye Chelny (just one thousand km from Moscow towards the East), a city in the Republic of Tatarstan, which, being a part of Russia, has its own unique culture and language. I was raised in a family, where there was always music playing in the house. Having inherited my parents music tastes, I continue to explore this endless music world. I record some music myself under a moniker "Spicules". People call it ambient and neoclassical music.

Since the school years I have been taking interest in foreign languages and literature, that is why after I decided to study teaching and translating foreign languages. I take a deep interest in translating video games, I've been translating a few ones and even wrote a thesis about unofficial Russian translations (translating games can be as interesting as playing them).

In September, 2018 I became an EVS volunteer (European Voluntary Service), and now I live in one back-country village of France where I take part in a unique project which literally unites the locals and foreign volunteers under one roof! And now, more than a dozen people from different countries, we live together in one multicultural environment where we organise different types of workcamps. Here I share a room with a French teenager, a Spanish girl and a cat Manou.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will not reveal any eye-opener, but I'm here to travel and meet new faces, to ask for help and give a hand in return, to share positive energy and emotions.

I'm really fond of the world cinematography. France, the UK, Poland, Japan, South Korea, Russia – these are the countries that interest me the most of all. I adore the works of Takeshi Kitano, the Coen brothers, François Truffaut, Park Chan-wook, Satoshi Kon, Bong Joon-ho, Michel Gondry.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be glad to prepare for you some traditional meals from my homecountry (Russian and Tatar cuisine). Also, I have some French recipes under my sleeve, since I live now in France.

Sharing some favourite music is always a pleasure! I'm always ready to spend an evenings just by listening and discussing music.

If you are interested I can give some lessons of the Russian language.

If you like to draw or sculpt I can pose for you as I have experience working as an artist's model.
