Overview
About Me
Hey there,
Originally from Serbia, I somehow found myself here in Shenzhen. I've lived in several countries on a few continents but Shenzhen is the only place I call a second home.
I own my own business and I also study Chinese at Shenzhen University.
I went from a banker to a humanitarian, a teacher, and finally a therapist. There were few other professions along the way but these are the main ones.
Obviously, changing locations or careers is not a problem for me so if you need any advice feel free to reach out :)
I love learning about other cultures and bringing different cultures closer to the locals. I like yoga and meditation, reading (although not much time for that) and if you ever come to SZ and see a woman on a bike singing her lungs out - that's me!
I love, love, loooove food - both eating and cooking. I think there's nothing that excites me more than food :)))
Things I enjoy doing but am not really good at but also don't really care, are as follows: dancing, volleyball, chess, cooking, and singing :)))
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm curious about meeting local people and learning about the culture firsthand. Also, who better to provide the best tips for what to visit that's not on TripAdvisor or similar platforms? I was never into sightseeing, I'd rather spend time roaming the streets and finding hidden gems that you can't google about.
Interests
I have 4 cats and I hope not to have any more since my hand are already full but given that I rescue cats and take care of the stray cats in my neighbourhood, I might get a few more over the years :)
Music, Movies, and Books
Music is my life! Depending on my mood I enjoy almost all kinds of music.
I gave my TV away 10 years ago and since then I've been enjoying books more than ever! The last one that left me speechless was "Pope Joan" by Donna Woolfolk Cross. Mostly I like books with strong stories but light topics are also fine occasionally.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quit banking to join the refugee crisis in 2015, when millions of people refuge from Syria and other Middle Eastern countries to Europe. It was a life-changing experience, which I'm at the same time the most proud of and the most humbled by.
