About Me

I am someone who can't stand still. I try to learn something new and visit new places as often as possible, try to travel and meet new people. I have done different jobs, from supporting a cyclist on his way to a Guinness world record to working in an art gallery in India, but I think I have finally found something that interests me more than just a hobby. I am studying to be a UX designer, and in my free time I paint and do different kind of crafts. I might be a little bit reserved at first, but it's only the first impression. I am friendly and outgoing, love having a laugh with my friends and an occasional loud night out with lots of dancing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I suppose I'm here to see the life of locals when I visit other countries, I really don't like the feeling of being a tourist somewhere, so meeting new people really helps with that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The more I tell others about this, the more I understand that it was actually an amazing trip that we did, and an unusual job as well. In the summer 2015 I was a part of the team of three who drove around the world supporting a cyclist who was trying to set a Guinness world record of the fastest circumnavigation of the globe on a bicycle. We started our journey in Scotland, our old Skoda packed full of supplies and three of us, following our guy and making sure all he needed to think about was cycling. We were 24, 22 and 20 years old, but we believed that we could do it! Even though the cyclist didn't manage to finish the race, we did an amazing trip through Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan and all of China finally ending it in Hong Kong and flying back home. Thousands of photos and memories will always remind me of what we did and that it was eye opening in so many ways. It also proved that if you have the right people travelling with you, you can do anything and solve any problem that stands in your way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If anyone is interested in learning English, Russian or Latvian, I can definitely help with that. We can also do a fun art project, share travelling stories and just have a great time. :)
