CURRENT MISSION

I am hosting together with my boyfriend Daniel. We have always been surfing together on our half year trip through Northern America from California up to Alaska. We are back since the middle of october and are finally ready to host guests by ourselves. Daniel is a PhD Student in a chemistry company close by and I just started my first job in the forestry business. We have a little flatmate, our dog Billy :)

ABOUT US

We love the outdoors! We mostly hike and do longer backpacking tours whenever we have time. Besides that we go skiing. And we try out everything else like kayaking, climbing (we did ice climbing once when we were in Alaska! That was amazing)... Alena loves horse riding and has two horses on her own. Daniel plays soccer. We both love to go running and we ran a half marathon together a couple years ago.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

The best times we had on our North America Tour were with couch surfers or other local people we met and hang out with. We would never want to miss those times :)

Interessen

Besides the outdoors we love music. Unfortunately we are definitely no musicians.. no talent at all ... but instead we like to go to concerts and in summer there is at least one good music festival on our list!
We also enjoy good food and a good beer with it!

Music

Daniel rather listens to harder rock like Bring me the horizon and Heaven Shall Burn and stuff like that. Alena rather listens to Indie Rock like Beatsteaks, Mando Diao (the older Albums), Portugal The Man...

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

One of the coolest things we have done together were to Ice Climb in Alaska with a couchsurfing host!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

We can share some of our travel experience! For Daniel our last trip was the first time out of Europe but Alena has been traveling in New Zealand after high school for seven months and in 10th grade she went to high school in California for 6 months.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

We have a nice little apartment where we live with our dog:) We can show our guests around the "Bergisches Land" and if you are lucky you might even be able to rent one of our bikes to be able to explore by yourself!
