About Me
ABOUT ME
An old soul. A wild heart. An indie spirit. An adventure-seeker. A scatter-brain. A frustrated artist. A passive-aggressive. A sound-maker & a story-teller. A maverick *_*
PHILOSOPHY
Through the highest of mountains, hike on.
Through the roughest of roads, bike on.
Through the waves & wipeouts, paddle on.
Through the craziest of days, sing on.
Through the wildest of nights, dance on.
Through the toughest of times, carry each other on.
Let the universe conspire - CARPE DIEM, VITA BREVIS.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My brother brought me into this whole idea. This is one of the ways that helped him get around because by profession he is a travel writer & photographer. Check out his blog at http://www.eazytraveler.com/
I started tagging along on his trips and we got to couchsurf locally just around here in the Philippines. When I started backpacking alone, that's when I realized the full experience of what couchsurfing is all about :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swam with the whalesharks of Oslob, Cebu. Swam with the turtles of Perhentian Islands, Malaysia
Hiked up Banawe Rice Terraces with my mom & brother & swam at the Tappiya Falls beneath an amazing double rainbow!
Biked 127 kilometers from Cebu City up North to Medellin for a Holy Week away from home
Had my own version of Temple Run around Bangkok, Thailand
Fed an 85-year old elephant at the old capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya
Travelled for the first time alone to Singapore - couldn't really categorize it as a backpacking experience but heck! I had a backpack and I was alone, so yeah whatever haha!
Witnessed a beautiful sunset amidst a crazy storm by the beach at Port Barton, San Vicente, Palawan
Getting stranded at Puerto Galera, Mindoro and going diving (illegaly & alone)
Danced & Sang to the traditional movement & music of the T'boli Tribe of Lake Sebu, South Cotabato
Cruised through the Iwahig River in Palawan where I lived an excerpt from the Life of Pi where the trees were burning with fireflies, the dark waters were painted a bioluminescent green glow by the plankton and the sky was covered with a blanket of diamonds :)
Every single day there are amazing things that you get to see or do. You need not to travel far nor reach down low to the depths of your pockets to experience what life has to offer. I've always believed in Henry Miller's similar advice when he said that “One's destination is never a place, but rather a new way of looking at things”. So the decision that you first have to make is whether you want to get up off your bed, get out that door and sing to the sun or dance in the rain - whatever it is you decide or undecide to do, just BE in the day that is given to you. BREATHE it in and live it UP, OUT & as LOUD as how the world is calling out to you.
