About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting new people from the comfort of my hometown! Bed and couches available! Working full time so can't entertain much during the week.

ABOUT ME

I work full time as a logistics services coordinator for an agriculture company. I graduated from Iowa State University with a BA in World Languages and Cultures: German and a BS in Business Management and International Studies. I traveled to China and Germany during my junior year of college and spent a semester my senior year of high school in Wuelfrath, Germany, which started my whole couchsurfing experience. I live with my boyfriend and stepson in a spacious 4 bed/2 bath house in West Ames. We have 2 cats and two dogs, so prepare for lots of begging for belly rubs. Big comfy sectional in the living room, queen bed in guest room, bunk beds in kiddo's room, decent couch in the living area of basement with 2nd full bath.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life while you can

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love being able to save money while travelling just by meeting new and interesting people who are nice enough to offer you their place. You never feel like you are intruding because you can give back by offering something in return like breakfast or a nice bottle of wine. It has been a while since I have couchsurfed, but I have been enjoying hosting now that we have a bigger house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Summer 2008, Chicago, Il: After having said good bye to all my friends and family and doing as much last minute packing as I could, I shoved my way into an overly full car with a destination of good ol' Grant Park, Chicago. After day one of Lollapalooza, we arrived at our Couchsurfers pad grumpy and exhausted but still managed to have a great time. It turned in to a great weekend full of lots of great food, music, and certainly people, ending with a sad good bye as I left Chicago for Germany. Luckily enough, five months later I flew back in from Germany to Chicago and was met by the same Couchsurfers from before! Overall epic first Couchsurfing experience.

Interests

Taking risks, laughing, having a good time, going fast, dancing to my favorite music, learning new things, being outside in nature, TRAVELLING! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies and Books: Comedy and mystery/horror are my favorites.
Music: Everything but MOST country. There's an exception to everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seattle, WA. The most amazing city. If you haven't been there, go. More recently, I visited China. Talk about culture shock, but one of the most beautiful places I've been so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

Live in the moment! Don't be in a hurry to grow up. Be rational.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Netherlands, United States
