About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a DREAMER. I want to travel the world, experience/immerse into different cultures, and meet interesting people from around the world!

ABOUT ME

I'm extremely easygoing. I love to laugh and have fun (who doesn't really). I love to explore and try new things, something I discovered when I went to Thailand. I never thought I would do this, but off I went on my own and I loved every second of it. I'm a dreamer, I love planning my next trip. I'm a photographer and it may get annoying sometimes because I will ALWAYS have my camera with me. So if we're walking down the street and suddenly I'm not next to you, don't worry, I'll catch up. I'm athletic and love any kind of sport, although i'm terrible at pool and bowling (but I'll still play, as long as you have patience). I love the beach, but you can find me hiking in the mountains somewhere too. I pretty much love everything! I love writing, so I'll take any opportunity to do that. My husband and I are starting a blog to document our family traveling the world!

Traveling has become a passion of mine and I won't be satisfied until I see all there is out there! I love to go out, drink socially, dance like no ones watching (cliche I know but thats definitely how I dance), stay up late talking, long walks on the beach (ok you get the point). Pretty much I'm super easy to get along with and I'm NOT awkward at all. I'll treat you like I've known you for years even if its been a couple minutes.

And imagine that description I just gave you about me, my husband, Stratton is the exact same, if not MORE outgoing than I am! You'll love him.

If you want to learn more about me check out my travel blog http://thetravelingdreamer.com for when I traveling on my own 6 years ago. I lived in Thailand, taught English, and traveled around Southeast Asia on my own.

We are also starting a blog http://www.ourwanderingroots.com where we will document our travels as a couple!

PHILOSOPHY

I've learned to live my life in the moment. I never thought I would be where I am right now, but here I am. I have taken a hold of my life and I want to make it exactly what I want. I believe we have control of our own happiness and my goal in life is to be completely happy and content (which I definitely am right now).

Stratton and I believe that life is not just for surviving, getting by, or living just day to day. Its about living, experiencing life to its fullest, and we're so excited to do that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to meet people. I have surfed many places as I traveled through Southeast Asia! I get along with just about everyone and you usually won't find me without a smile on my face. My husband and I are going to be traveling the world (this will be his first go at Couchsurfing and he's super pumped!). The reason why we are choosing to couchsurf vs. stay elsewhere is because we are traveling to learn about the culture, meet people, and get experiences we would not otherwise get staying in a hotel on our own. We are very outgoing and are so eager to meet people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had AMAZING experiences couchsurfing meeting some of the greatest people!! I have had so much fun meeting the locals and learning more about the culture of the place I'm staying. You don't get that in a hotel or even a guesthouse! I've made lifelong friends with those I've stayed with. I can only hope to continue!

Interests

inspiring others, Photography, traveling (of course), blogging and writing, any kind of sport (I'm a jock, or I used to be one, and love watching sports and playing them), hiking and camping, the outdoors, the beach, new experiences, new people

Music, Movies, and Books

I love mostly any movie I watch, as long as its entertaining. Of course I love my share of romantic comedies, action and drama are up there too. I love to read but I don't really have a favorite right now. And I'm pretty easy going with music and love everything from teeny pop music to country to rap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ziplining through the trees and living in a treehouse for three days in Laos during the Gibbon Experience

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned that with traveling you need to learn to be flexible. My whole life I have had everything planned out and nothing has ever gone wrong, until I started traveling. I have learned to go with the flow and just have confidence in myself that everything will work out!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Our energy! We're extremely positive people who want to spread that positivity.
