About Me
My name is Alessandro and I am a 22 years old university student from Italy.
After having travelled for 15 months during my gap year as a volunteer through South America and Africa, I have been living near Bologna where I am studing diplomatic sciences.
I have always been interested in getting in touch with new cultures and people. Last year helped me a lot to open my mind, get in touch with foreign cultures and understand the importance of helping needy people.
I like speaking, playing sports (tennis and football), learning languages, hanging out and cooking.
I really love travelling with my bike. In 2021 I went from my city, Milan, to Lisbon in a month by bike. This summer I travelled in the Balkans, from Romania to Albania by bike.
I define myself as a calm and polite person. I like both to stay alone, to reflect and think, and to stay with people. The best thing of any travel is not just the place but the pople you meet!
Since 2019 I have been writing a blog where I speak about my volunteering experiences and how I organize them: Italianvolunteer.com
Recently I published a book called "Da Gringo a Mzungu" about my gap year.
See you!
Alessandro
