About Me

I am an open minded guy, who loves people. People person is a phrase used in every statement or reference written about me, but this is deeper than a love of people, it is a love for what we do and why. I am also extremely interested in how the world around us - the physical world and society - affects us each and every day. I also am interested in ways to facilitate positive interactions, that isn’t limited to spaces. I think that through participatory design or through participatory processes (making art together, reading groups, interventions) where we are involved in making something or interacting with something together then we will bond over that, and hopefully those watching will interact because of that - be it a smile, a conversation or a hi5! I am further exploring these interests by studying architecture at the Glasgow School of Art.

Currently outside of my course I keep busy by taking photos and then processing and printing them in the dark room, curating and making art (recently I made a big sculpture for a cultural festival), organising workshops etc.

MOST IMPORTANTLY I LIKE TO HAVE FUN. Be that partying, reading, chilling, cycling, swimming - I don't know! I'm here for a good time not a long time.

I love to help others, it brings me lots of happiness. This is why I believe selfishness isn't always a problem, we as humans are inherently good (in my opinion), so we want to help each other, western individualism makes us do otherwise.

I also believe in forgiveness, and loving everyone (there is something to love in everybody) - love is the only thing that can save us from self destruction. However, we are all human and allowed to be imperfect, we must work together towards a world of equality, social justice and peace.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To find like minded people and learn about local cultures. I want to avoid being separated from locals by barriers like a hotel wall or language. I also believe in helping others as and when we can. Maybe I cannot offer a roof to travellers but I can share my food, warmth and knowledge. I have received so much help and love from people through couchsurfing but also from chance encounters the street. I would like to pass that all forward.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled from Den Hague in the Netherlands to Como in Italy over the Alps!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share myself,
I can share my beliefs,
I can share my hopes,
I can share my life.

Maybe some food? A little time? Maybe some information? I dunno, best telling me what you need first.

I want to learn as much about all of the diverse cultures of the world.

I don't know what I can teach... But I can discuss and share knowledge, I don't believe I hold any answers, we all hold the answers. However, I was an apprentice carpenter and plumber for some time...

I could help you fix your bicycle?
I could teach you how to shoot film too :) (however I am no expert)
