Mmm this is difficult but for travelling i would recommend:

-Music: folk and americana
-Movies: Into the wild, Oh brother where art thou, Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, Marrakech Express(great italian movie about travelling with friends), Central do Brasil, The New World, all Wes Anderson or classic Woody Allen films
-Books: On the road or The dharma bums from Jack Kerouac
