About Me
Hello! I'm Alex, from London and am 26 years old. I have been in Mexico for the last 11 months, working and volunteering my way from Cabo San Lucas through to Guadalajara, DF, Morelos, Guerrero and Oaxaca.
I love travelling and socialising and doing sporty activities, such as surfing, football, snowboarding and hockey. I also practice yoga and meditation when I can. I also like just hanging out and chatting or cooking food.
I studied philosophy and history of art at uni and did a ski season in Austria.
I worked at children's charity as head of sports fundraising in London but moved out to Mexico last May. I have worked in an orphanage and animal shelter in Cabo San Lucas, an earthquake crisis team in morelos, turtle camp and eco hotel in Guerrero and two other orphanages in Oaxaca. Also in a hostal for a while and many other random small jobs that I’ve found along the way.
I really enjoy cooking, eating and drinking, stroking big fluffy dogs and everything about music.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Staying with people who are locals or natives to the area is a much better experience. Although I did like the hostel life when I was younger I really prefer meeting Mexicans who I can learn about the culture from, see the non touristy sites and speak Spanish.
My plans are to travels and volunteer through Mexico and down south to work at a refugee camp in Costa Rica.
