About Me

Hello!! I'm Alex, a relatively laid-back dude who recently started traveling the world. I hail from 'Murica, but I'm currently living with some family members in Egypt! If I ever meet you in person, I'm probably going to ask you if you play Ultimate Frisbee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently started traveling the world, and so far I've been impressed by all of the nice people I've met in many foreign countries. I'm excited by the prospect of saving money while meeting interesting people from many different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Electronic = Feed Me, Metal = Fit for a King (If you're interested in metal / screamo, let's chat! I have lots of "favorite bands" in this genre)

Movies: The Matrix, Inglorious Bastards, Fight Club

Books: The Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini), Prey (Michael Crichton), The Irresistible Revolution (Shane Claiborne)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My buddy and I took a relatively spontaneous 4-day trip to Kenya for a beach ultimate frisbee tournament called FEAST (Frisbee East Africa Sand Tournament) - and in the first 24 hours we took over 7 methods of transportation, just to reach the tournament venue. What a crazy (almost sleepless) 4 days.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm continually learning new programming languages and adapting what my favorite food is.
If anyone is interested in getting into programming and wants some tips or suggestions, I'd be glad to try to help :)

I once thought it was important to get a fancy, high paying job that would enable me to buy a big house, fancy car, and all the happiness in the world. Now I know my purpose is to travel the world, spreading good vibes and continually learning. The world is big and full of people from difficult cultures.

If you are reading this, I have a riddle for you. What is this:

It is patient and it is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
