I'm studying construction management at loughborough university in the english midlands. I love to do any outdoors activities and am active in my universities mountaineering club.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently traveling together with a friend who put me onto this comunity. I'm just looking to meet people hang out, drink, listen to music and have a good time.

Interests

My biggest hobby at the moment is rock climbing. I'm roughly at a v4 level (v5 on a good day) or 5.10 level but always willing to at least attempt 5.11.
If anyone is up for going climbing please give me a shout i'm always looking to do climbing weather indoors or outdoors.
I'm a capable belayer and top rope climber. I'm able to climb lead on sport routes bit not at my full level and though i understand the basics of leading trad routes i have never done it before. Always willing to belay and second though.

Also interested in almost any outdoor activities, as well as most forms of gaming. I'm not good at fighting games or strategy games but i'm competent at most other genres and i'm always game fir a match even if know i'll lose.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was raised on AC/DC and The Corries so i have an affinity for Rock, blues and folk music. In recent years i've started listening to hip hop music picking up CD's from artists such as Stormzy, Wiley and Kano. Always up for new music experiences where available :)

I love horror/comedy movies such as Shawn of the dead, Brain Dead (my favourite movie) and planet terror as well as most zombie movies. Unfortunately i'm not very good at pure horror movies and tend to scream like a small child. I have a love for Sci-fi movies, and just odd movies like fear and loathing in las Vegas.

I mostly read sci-fi books, trashy web novels and the occasional bit of good literature. I'm normally reading something, it's just normally pulp fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have attempted the British 3 peaks challenge to hike up Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell pike in England and Snowden in wales along with some colleges from HTC Wolfkran to raise money for the charity Sparkle Sheffield. Despite a great start a logistical mistake within the team meant my group was only able to complete Ben Nevis and Snowden within the 24 hours :( however others in the team finished the challenge :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an okay cook and baker, i know a couple recipes but i prefer to experiment and see how meals turn out, what works and what doesn't. Always down for learning new meals and ways of cooking.

If anyone is looking to learn basic climbing skills or map reading skills i can take you through the basics.

I enjoy sharing music, learning about new bands and discussing different genres of music. I've been collecting music since i was 12 and though i'm not very knowledgeable about any one genre i at least have a broad understanding of different styles and genres.

I'm always looking to see cool art and learn about local history for the places i'm visiting. I have a leaning towards learning these things in a way that gets me outside and walking around.
