I'm Alex and Im currently traveling through France/Spain with my girlfriend, Caro, and my good friend Guri. Do you like good conversation? Wine? Laughing at bad puns and good jokes? Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just found out about couch surfing during my travels, and it seems like a great way both to meet new people and to see a different side of the city than if I were staying at a hostel. In my experience, while staying with locals I see the less touristy side of town. I'm also looking to practice my Spanish (at a conversational level) and help others practice English.

Interests

I like backpacking (both through cities and the backcountry), hiking, cooking tasty food, eating tasty food, reading a good book (I'm always down to exchange books/recommendations), a conversation over a couple beers, everything in the ocean, music, learning what people have to teach me, and a lot more.

I'm into indie rock (arcade fire, belle & Sebastian), a variety of electronic music (Chet faker, Tchami) , hip hop (Chance the Rapper, A tribe called quest), power ballads with a strong female voice (Beyonce is my guilty pleasure), classic rock (Led Zepplin, the smiths, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc...), and mostly recently salsa(play some of that Joe Arroyo).

Movies I like that I can think of right now: The other guys, pulp fiction, the departed, pineapple express, Star Wars, LOTR, District 9, Wild, Snatch, anything by Miyazaki or anything with Phillip Seymour Hoffman (RIP)

Favorite authors: Murakami, Kerouac, Vonnegut, Stienbeck, Game of Throooones

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At one point in my life I was also able to eat an entire medium pizza, 6 chicken wings that came with it, and a pint of ice cream in one sitting. That point of my life is over, and I look back at it with an even mixture of disgust and nostalgia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help hosts learn English, exchange knowledge about cooking (I will cook you dinner!), and lively conersation/company.

I’ve also worked on a few farms/orchards and can give advice/help out with your fruit trees/veggies/compost. I’d even love to get out there and do some pruning weeding or planting! (Or best of all harvesting if it’s that time)
