Hello! My name is Alex Fairfield and I am currently attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I am majoring in Sport Management and minoring in Youth Studies. I will be graduating this upcoming school year, and hope to join the PeaceCorps afterwards. I absolutely love to travel and meet new people from all around the world. Other hobbies of mine include watching/playing football, basketball, hockey, golf, tennis, soccer and practically any other sport imaginable. I also love to spend time outdoors such as hiking, fishing, and jet skiing.

I hope to continue my travels for many years to come and with that comes the chance to meet new people. Staying at hostels are great opportunities to meet people from all around the world; however, in most cases there tends to be a lack of locals. Which is why I feel like couch surfing would greatly help immerse myself with the culture and get to know some of the locals.

I spent 6 months overseas studying abroad in Rotterdam, Netherlands. During that time I was able to visit 15 countries and ultimately developed my passion/addiction for travel. Currently, I’ve visited 42 countries but hope to make it many more in the coming years!
