Me and my partner Dave were living in the UK but gave up our jobs to travel around South East Asia from Jan 2017. During our trip we are aiming to use Couchsurfing where possible to meet local people, have new and interesting experiences and get to know a place a bit better than just the traditional backpacker route. Our plan is to travel around 10 different countries in 11 months. We would love to meet local people that can show us all the best places to eat, drink and see. We are looking to couch surf as a couple- he is David Robinson in my friends. **We often use Dave's profile to request hosts as he has done the verification therefore some of my references are under my personal from hosts we have stayed with. **

We enjoy meeting new people and going on different adventures. I was working in a Special Educational Needs school and my partner Dave is a photographer. We both love trying and eating new foods, particularly enjoying spicy foods. We both love walking and trekking. We love music and films. My partner Dave loves technology, cameras and gaming. My partner Dave has grown up in several different countries and has also travelled a bit to Asia before with his family. I have lived in the UK all my life but have loved exploring different countries going to New Zeland, Fiji and USA before uni by myself (although I was travelling with people I met on the way constantly so was never truly alone). Since leaving university we have travelled together to Edinburgh, Iceland and Morocco. And now to Asia...

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Me and my partner Dave are travelling around Asia from January 2017 for a year and would love to meet people that live in the countries we are travelling to! We would like to meet with people who have good local knowledge and we are happy to explore all over the countries! Plus as we will be travelling around for a year we will be try to keep costs down where we can including accommodation. We will be travelling to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, back to Thailand and to the Thai islands, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia (in particularly Bali), Phillipines, Japan, Hong Kong and China.

Hopefully with our hosts as well as amazing experiences we will end up with some good relationships and if we get a place when we get back we can host people in the UK!

So far we have stayed with
- Will Lewis in Bangkok in January 2017 and then again in May 2017 in his lovely apartment
- Wan Muhammad in Kota Bharu in July 2017 where he took us around to family celebrations for Hari Raya with other couchsurfers
- Miss Emily in Malacca in July 2017 in her quirky house and did some gardening for her in Malacca
- Kim Castro in Cebu City he hosted us for the night and we had a great evening chatting and drinking beers

Indie music and summer jams, I love watching films of most genres (The Martian, Jurrasic park, Lion King, Pretty Woman, Lock Stock and Shawshank Redemption and loads more) and books I love social psychology books, smart thinking books, science books and Crime fiction (Harlan Coben). Plus the Martian was a great read.

We can share stories about our adventures, Dave can share photography skills (I am just learning how to make videos!) We would love to hear about other people's lives and adventures. Also if you can show us the best local cuisine we are always up for trying new tasty dishes! I am always up for cooking for people (if we can find ingredients) or being shown how to cook traditional dishes.
